At SA Foundation, we believe access to clean water is not just a necessity but a right. Our “Clean Water for All” project has been a transformative force for the communities in Thar and surrounding remote areas. By working with local populations and understanding their most pressing needs, we’ve been able to implement sustainable solutions that will continue to impact lives for years to come.
Why We Stand Out
Date: March 2025
Location: Thar Desert
Objective: Providing access to clean drinking water
Target Communities: Over 10 villages
The lack of clean drinking water has been a constant struggle for communities in Thar. Many villages had to rely on distant water sources, which were often unsafe and polluted. Through community engagement and extensive research, we identified the areas most in need of intervention, ensuring our efforts were focused where they mattered most.
Project Implementation
Date: April 2025
Technology Used: Water Wells, Solar-powered Hand Pumps
Beneficiaries: Over 1,500 families
To address the issue, SA Foundation focused on providing sustainable water solutions. We installed solar-powered hand pumps and deep water wells that could withstand the extreme conditions of Thar. The installation was done in phases, prioritizing areas with the highest need, and every installation was followed by thorough testing to ensure water safety and accessibility.

Community Empowerment and Training
Date: Ongoing
Volunteer Involvement: 75+ volunteers from the local community
Sustainability: 100% community-run water systems
Alongside the physical infrastructure, we worked closely with the local community to ensure that the water systems would be maintained in the long run. Our team provided training on proper upkeep and hygiene practices to ensure the continued availability of clean water. Moreover, we educated locals about the importance of preserving water resources for future generations.
Long-term Impact and Future Goals
Date: Ongoing
Impact Measurement: Clean water access improved by 85%
Goal: Expand to 20 more villages
As of today, over 1,500 families have direct access to clean water, and waterborne diseases have decreased significantly in the targeted villages. We plan to continue expanding the reach of this initiative and aim to bring sustainable water solutions to 20 more villages by the end of 2026.
